swimming with seahorses on a sat-ur-DAY

Our day trip was fun.

we decided to skip town on saturday and go to chattanooga and see fish...it was more fun than picking up trees and it was going to rain. i believe after today the weather will be sunny for the at least three days. plenty of time to get out there and try re-create our back yard!  such a sudden blow.  such a force of nature.  life is full of "force".  watch out, you never know what is right around the corner....maybe a mother-ship to the next best place in the galaxy.  maybe a new car.  maybe just a smile from a really cute stranger.  all would sufice on a hard day.

as far as tree cleaning.  i can only say is that matt has taken himself to a new level.  he's having too much fun.

A BIG DOOZIE OF A STORM

Don't have a lot of time to get into the details BUT....here are some pixs of the doozie Mother Nature handed gave us Tuesday night.  We had no power until yesterday and my parents still don't have any.  We are seeing insurance people today....what a mess.

Kudo's to the kids!  They have really been troopers!  No trampoline, no playhouse, no back yard!  They LOVE playing on the tree in the front.  It just broke my heart when it snapped.

This weather I must say has been a ride.  Last night tornado warnings up until 2am.  I was up watching the lighting show and wondering if I was going to have to get the kids up and try to explain what was going on.  Thanks goodness it was just a light show with some loud music--not so sure about places south of me though.

Will post more pixs soon!

Probably the longest post I have EVER written: RELATIONSHIPS

I have been thinking a lot about relationships lately.

Relations with friends, family and the one you love.

Do you think that you take your family, friends and lover for granted?

I read this somewhere the other day and it made me start thinking just how grateful I am for the relationships I have.

Let me begin this way--

We all come into this world ALONE.

Then we meet our Parents.

In an instant we have started a relationship.

It's what we humans do.  We bond with one another and we stick together.  Now family is obviously the first relationship we have.  We have no choice.  There is no way around it. Where you land is your island.  But as time moves forward we each, as individuals, are connected to other people (and things) and develop relationships with each and every contact.

 The definitions:

(dictionary.com)

 1.a connection, association, or involvement

2.connection between persons by blood or marriage.

3.an emotional or other connection between people

For every relationship one of these definitions is true.  Relationships are how we live in the world and how we live our life.  Without relations we would be ALONE. Literally, imagine that, ALONE. No one to talk to,  to laugh with, cry with, share with, fight with, love with, giggle with, eat with, sleep with, BE with.

"What makes the light darkness bearable is each other"  Carl Sagan

Family is one of the surest relations we will have as humans.  We are born "into" a family--a relationship.  We may love it or hate it, but no matter what --you have it.It is easy to take for granted that fact that your mother cares about you and is always asking "about the kids".  But since I ran across the question above I really have been GRATEFUL for my family.  No matter what kind of "quirks" they carry around with them they are THERE--they are blood--they are family.

Friends are a relationship that takes time.  It is a relation, that when you develop and cultivate day after day, month after month, becoming into years, there isn't anything you wouldn't do for him.  She somehow becomes Family.  Never take  a true friend for granted.  You know the one.  The one you don't have to talk to every day, the one you may not have the most in common with but you know they are only a phone call away.  There is a love in your heart for the distance you have traveled together.

Marriage is the relationship of the heart.   Remember we started out ALONE but with marriage we find someone we are in need of, someone we must connect with, form a relationship with that we promise to each other, eye to eye, that we will stay connected, keep our relation, our ONE heart together through good times and bad times, through rain or shine, through heaven or hell. Through LIFE.  Marriage is sharing LIFE together. LIVING  life together.  Together we share our deepest truth.  Together we share OUR SELVES.  What is inside.  Marriage is such a relationship that if you do not share this "truth" the relationship will die.  It can not hold its self together without each heart open and giving of it's self. HEART to HEART.
When you give your heart you are ONE.   Forever.  (Is the idea)

My Conculsion:

All Relationshipes boil down to LOVE.   What we do for LOVE.  How we give LOVE.  How we receive LOVE.  LOVE is the only way.  These relationships are yours and mine.  We all have one or two or twleve or fifty.  Doesn't matter.  Relationships are all around you.  Look you will find them.  Be Grateful for them. Don't take them  for granted.  They are there because you and the other created them.  It wasn't easy.  No matter it be family, friend or lover.  It takes time to build and to be able to receive the beauty that every single relationship has to offer.

I can't help but reflect on this topic.

In the past month or so.  I have been surrounded by those who are building relationships, trying to work some out, starting new ones with new life and new friends.

It makes me wonder as I run on the greenway in the hot sun looking at the tree leaves and seeing the squirrels eating nuts, just how many people out there on this vast Earth contemplate that they are alive and have "relationships" at all.  The world is full of so much.  Just the simplest of things can shift your axis.  Like a question like: Are you taking your relationships for granted?

Ask yourself that.  Just this moment.  Pause and Ask.

I am glad to have paused and ask myself.  Even for a day.  Even for the moment that it took me to write this down.  There is much to consider this day and time.  The simple is often left behind hidden behind the IPAD, the extra activities after school, the television, the shopping, the cooking out, cell phones and work.   Simple is taken for granted too often.  Think about it.  All the the simple things that make you happy.  Like being able to call your mom and just say hello, or giving your spouse a kiss when she least expects it or having a spouse at all, or even telling your friend they "look nice today".

It all matters.

Its all worth it.

Relationships that is.

Just thinking.

Are you?

new friends are hard to find

i'm in love

I have been shopping around for running shoes since May!

I finally found them!

It was like finding my wedding dress....I got all giggle-ly inside.  A sudden rush came through me when I ran across the store.

They are as light as a feather--I feel  as if I could fly--
