so much......

I make lists.
All the time. On different pieces of paper, with different pens. Sometimes I like to make them look cute, other times I quickly jot down "to do" list and lose it as quickly as I wrote it out. I make lists and leave them in the car when I go shop. I make lists to organize my thoughts, needs, wants and sometimes my sanity. I make list to watch my actions move in progress. I make lists to see my life "achieving" step by step, day by day. Crossing out one thing and making it smaller is something I look forward to and feel good about. I am always moving toward my "big picture" of life. I look back after time and see all these LITTLE steps making BIG pictures!

Trust me.

Lists work. Try them. Think big and then prioritize. Make a NEED list and a WANT list. Don't ever combine them. Separate WORK and PLAY. And DAY to DAY.
Keep them in a journal and watch how things change......it's amazing what you will get done in your efforts. My goal is to mark one thing off my list a day. If I do that, I am feeling golden!

And on a rainy day in May when your feeling down, take that list out and you will be happily surprised what you really have been doing with all these day to day long days in and out grind of life days! Living! and Doing......all the time.

Logan woke up this morning with the sentence, "Lets go hiking."

He was determined to get outside today and enjoy the weather....I think he must have had a dream about it. We went and explored. It was a beautiful day and felt warm enough to think that spring is coming. The birds were flying everywhere, we had fun. Tatum and Logan are really cute together, while Jack is in school these two find many ways to entertain themselves. They might as well have been twins.
All in all they are best of friends.......Hansel and Gretel you might say....

three is the magic number

I LOVE the number 3

Having three kids is a lot of fun. But I am often reminded that three kids is times 3. If I want to buy a toy. I have to buy 3. If I am planning to sign them up for a class...McDonalds? THREE! Clothes?....3 Baby!

I was recently in a store and saw a cute stuffed animal for valentines. It was $10. Not so bad....but.......times 3 ! That's 30 bucks on stuff animals that will only fill a moment and then sit in the play room hopefully for a rainy day.

Three is my lucky number. Three is the triangle that I grew up with and I am grateful that I have 3 beauties who are moving right along and are healthy and learning and fun. BUT....

I bring all this up because it has been a CRAZY WEEK! I have been running to doctors and school and shopping and this and that....I now know what my mom must have felt. Having three kids is a JOB and a JOB and a JOB. I have THREE jobs.

This week I took Jack to the dentist. First time! He did GREAT! But he has to go in to the hospital and get his teeth cleaned and pull his front teeth. They are a little late and the dentist thinks it's best to just get them out. He then had to go get 6 xrays on his foot. Long story, but he hurt it. On top of that Logan has a "birth mark" that has to be removed by incision. And then on top of it all....Today I found out that Jack, has a stress fraction in his foot and has to go into a cast. That's a story for another post. Lordie Lordie! What is a mom to do!

Needless to say, I am worn out.

I think after all this is done, this spring I am flying to NYC with my camera and staying in the Dakota Hotel. ALONE!

Seeing is a good thing

I was thinking this morning what my post was going to be today.

As I turned on the computer and put my glasses I could see. Early morning coffee isn't enough anymore and I need my glasses to read the screen.

I decided then.....I really LOVE my glasses.

They are red. They are bold.
They make me feel bold when I have them on.
I use to wish I wore glasses in grade school.
I guess I thought all the kids that did were smart?
I don't know, there is something sexy about glasses. Something "intelligent" about a person who has them on? We live in the world of stereotypes, I'm not making this up. Ask around. Surely some would agree. Wearing glasses is a billion dollar business.

Really--- it boils down to--I don't see as well as I use to---thanks 40!----oh, well, there could be worse things.

LOVE on white

Have you ever opened a blank journal and felt like it was whispering something to you?

I have. Every time I see one that catches my eye.

I LOVE blank journals.

I think it started in high school when I started writing poetry. I found a little blank book that was called, "The nothing book, what to make it something?"

It was blank and I thought what a cool thing....a book that was bound like a book but was void of words and I put what EVER I wanted inside it! I could write anything! That was a big deal to me at age 14.

Through the years I have come to really trust my blank pages and know that what I find in the pages are for me. I rarely share anything I put in them.

I often put ideas and contemplations.

I am someone full of questions, constantly searching....I am forever sniffing out my impressions and visions and keep these books to bind them.
I LOVE the feeling of secrecy.
I LOVE to power I feel when I say something to my page that I may never in a lifetime say to someone out in the real world.
Call it therapy.
Call is a journal. A diary if you must.
But I see it more as a companion.
Someone that is always objective and willing to carry anything I want it to hold.

I will continue to explore and pour out money just to have these guys on hand when the time comes or an idea hits or I am just in the mood to hold it in my hand and say...........................

I Love........The Weather Channel

I LOVE the weather channel.

I can't tell you how many hours I hav logged on the weather channel. I do know that I have been a fan since my early college years...say 12 years ago kindly, and I still watch it more than any other station on TV. WHY? I have often ponder this strange habit.....is it the weather, the people, the music? Until NBC took over I think it was for the silence. What I mean is that it was so simple, it was just really all about weather and nothing else, no agenda, no "speculations". I once read in a Feng Shui book that if you wanted to create a relaxing, calming atmosphere in a room using the TV put it on the weather channel. So I think I got hooked to the "no one is trying to sell me an idea" it was JUST THE WEATHER.....mankind can't mess with that!

So I continue....everyday...we have a game at the Anderson house when we eat dinner. "what is your favorite color? everyone answers...."what is your favorite animal? everyone answers..."what is your favorite TV show....everyone answers...but I never get the chance....Tatum always says, "mommy yours is the Weather Channel, yes!" really? "yes" i say with some kind of pride and quiet confidence that at least she didn't say, "Lifetime, yes!"

So if you don't watch the weather channel and your in a "rough mood" and need to be "balanced" check it out...really all they do is report the weather....they are not asking for you to "buy" what they "think" or what they "think they think"!

off to end another day..............and to dream.............
