EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT
I have offically "UPGRADED" from my Rebel XSI, my one and only Jones Moe, (don't worry your my first love darlin and always will have a place in my camera bag!') BUT
I am now holding a
Canon 7D.
It's heavier therefore, seemingly more serious-
It feels like moving from TN to NYC -to Soho to be exact.
I love Soho, but I remember feeling a bit intimadated at first. I can't hardly find the on/off button (it's on the other side of the camera) I have a wedding to shoot in two weeks! LORDIE where are the Gods when you need them?
"Are you there God, it's me Margret (anyone remember that book?), I have a new camera and I need to read the manual in less than two weeks and figure this shit out!"
I'll be ok. I figure, if anything I will click and go off my GUT...I am really GOOD at that.
I am thrilled and gitty but i will prevail and catch my breath and act like a normal human being after the shock of this has settled.....i look forward to the adventures ahead! To all those who understand this "upgrade" cheers...life is good!

imagination
definition:
the faculty of imagining, or of forming mental images or concepts of what is not actually present to the senses.
this week has been full of contemplation. i have been in pursuit of finding my center once again. i don't know what knocks me off, but when it happens i feel frantic and unfocused. i feel lost and unable to really get anything that matters to me done. my center is the spoke that rotates my wheel of life. it is what takes me around through the hours of the days and days of the week and months of the years ahead. i need to be centered in order to feel rooted to my daily life.
i bring up the word imagination because it matters. i have worked very hard to find a way to incorporate my personal philosophy of life into my daily living. it's sometimes very difficult to remember to open my eyes and see what is around me, to live in the moment and to experience that moment at the same time. but i try and i do and i have-most of the time.
the imagination of our kids are remarkable.
they are so willing to just make it up. to believe in what ever they are saying and seeing through their eyes. its fascinating to watch and i find myself somewhat envious to it. sometimes i find that i wish i had those eyes and that impulse! then it occurred to me, i do. i do if i want to. i do if i choose to. i can "make it up" too, I can " see through those eyes, my eyes" if i choose to. i too have IMAGINATION i just haven't been using it, or rather not recognizing that i am when i do.
my inner self is longing to put some of it's inner images out into the real world. the real world that we live in day to day. the real world, not ones that exist in the middle of the night under the sheets and during the ticking of the clock. these worlds sit in silence in the mind until the night comes again. i'd like to find a way to bring both together. both of them exist so heavily in my experience. both are real to me in the moment. if i am awake, i am mindful of the world around me, if i am sleeping i am enveloped by images that i feel are so very real. i wake up and feel the tug of both worlds, each pulling me like a kids tug of war game.
this morning logan woke up yelling for "panda". he came downstairs asking me where his panda was? "the one that was black and white and came from the store." i knew instantly he had dreamt it, but he was so certain he had a panda bear and that it was here. he looked around the living room and then decided it must be in the car. i couldn't stop him, he was so determined. he walked outside in the gusty wind and wet grass and opened the door to the van. he got in and yelled, "panda where are you" i just watched, trying in intervals to reassure him that he was going off a dream and that we would try and find a panda for him to buy. he called and called and then realized he wasn't there, and sat in his seat and cried. it was sad, but as sad as it was it was beautiful...he was just being a kid wanting his bear that never existed anyway, except in his mind, in his night time life...his dreaming....his imagination. he came back in and i told him we would find him a panda.....he had already named it, "dragon panda". he is very much into dragons these days and everything he names is dragon something......
i want to be a dragon. fly. spit fire. be bigger than life. i think i will.
today i am a dragon.
today i will fly around and look at the world from his eyes.
today i will spit fire.
i will spit out the bad and keep the good deep
today i will find a way to fill my world with imagination.

SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE
Logan is healing like Flash Gordan!!!!
He is looking great and running around like our Logan Horse!!!
It's been a busy week. I have three jobs coming up with my photography and still working on a painting series. The spring has finally decided to settle in....although I believe today may feel closer to summer! Almost 90. That's a far cry from 32. The weather here is a bit unpredictable. Has it stopped snowing in Jersey? Packman? :)
I purchased a new lens ....a Tamron 28-300mm. I am loving it! I am going to shoot with it today on a job.
Here are some shots I recently took with it.
We have a lot of projects going on right now.
Considering Spring has sprung. Matt gets in the "lets get this garage cleaned out" mood, and I want learn everything about planting and gardening. I want to buy a riding lawn mower. ( I hate mowing the grass I have decided, it's just a pain and it grows sooooo fast! )
Plenty of things to do.
This spring and summer will be busy but we are all looking forward to being OUTSIDE!!!

I don't have a lot of time to get into the details....matt is out of town and i have kiddo's running around like crazy chickens....logan went to ER last night, he and Boone dog had a party with our front porch and stairs...which is cement....poor guy his face really got scrapped up and WOW he looks like he boxed the next best thing....he won of course, you should have seen the other guy!
I took pictures to prove to him one day that he is NOT invincible...I am sure that there will be a point where this "Cowboy" of ours will think he is!
No worries, all is well with his head inside and out....he just has to heal a bit and hope that there is no evidence left behind.
on a lighter note matt and i enjoyed a night in nashville before the big fall with RUSH....and what a concert....it was really fun....matt, mark (matt's bro) and i drove down sunday and enjoyed a day eating really good food, drinking really good beer and such and watching RUSH....Getty, Alex and Neil.....what a dream team....if my 18 year old self met with my 40 year old self she would be saying, "are you kidding? rush? that's not your style, that's not what you sang in your car driving to cheerleading practice, they are no where near Madonna!" But my 40 year old self would say to my 18 year old girl, "it's like learning to enjoy a bottle of great wine opposed to a gallon of liquer." apples and oranges, water and oil, latin and french --if anyone gets the chance watch the recent documentary that was made on them and it will trully inspire you as an artist and as a human beings .....they are too school for cool!

I sold three pieces! All photography! One blown up and framed and two cards with photos on the front! I'm pleased.
It was terribly windy and my face is wind-blown and lips are chapped but all in all a fun event.
Cyn and Shannon did a really great job setting up and organizing the show!
Thanks guys! Can't wait til next time....hopefully we will show all spring through fall!
Anyone in town that gets this come on out to Homberg Art Market...there are some really great artists gathered.
creating and having fun!
Art is to be shared. If not, what's the point? Plato's cave says it all. I am paraphrasing but, "if a man draws art in a cave and no one is there to see it, is it art?" I will look the exact quote up and get back to you on that. It's worth contemplating and getting thoughts.
til then.....sweet dreams to all....
