Jack Turned the big 6!!!!!

Ok, I was a tad ambitious with the Haiku spring, once a day thing. Maybe once a month! I am finding little time as of late to post. There has been some "home tending" that had to be done i.e. fix the dishwasher, washer, garage door, build a trampoline, have bday party, and pretty much every thing in between. It's taken a while to post. But such is life and I am now back in the swing of things.

I am happy to say my camera should, cross your fingers, ship out tonight and I will be back in full swing of that too. It has been very difficult not having it around. I have realized how much I LOVE doing photography, and often wonder what took me so long to find it. More on that thought later. I thought I would at least post pixs of jack's 6th birthday! We had a blast, partied all day, all weekend! It rained but still got the trampoline up and had lots of fun, cake, gifts, and Wii.

I didn't have my camera, so I video taped a lot. That's a good thing...going to do that more! But got a couple of cute pixs.

Hakiu #3

Gray clouds floating by
My iPod signing enya
Time to sit and rest

It's been a busy weekend. Maybe it won't be a Haiku everyday, but let's say almost everyday!:)
Jack had a spring fest at school on friday and we all went. It was fun. Cotton candy, bouncing, face painting and ducks! What else could you ask for! The weather here in ktown has been martha stewart perfect, and the pollen has all the cars looking like green dust bunnies on the roads. But to have all these beautiful flowers and blooms you have to have green dust bunnies.....I now get why we have, "the dogwood arts festival" they are everywhere in bloom. Very pretty.
Trying to plan summer vacations and such so my head is spinning. Thinking about taking the circus to the beach. A traveling circus is very colorful. We make lots of friends on the road. They have fun for a limited time in the car. We'll see. They would love to see the lands edge I know they would all freak out and pee in their pants to see all that water and sand. They are so cute.
My camera is STILL sick and I am shooting with a point and shoot. It takes really nice pictures, but I miss the intimacy of my Jones Mo. Here are some shots I got at the spring fest. One thing I have learned through my "photography escapade" is that it has nothing to do with the camera you are using. It's who is shooting it. It was a challenge to frame and compose the shots but some turned out really cool. Hope you like.

Haiku #2

coffe steaming hot
my toes bare and cold on wood floor
I write my haiku

The past two days have been sad. I am out of comission. My camera is in the hospital. It won't take a picture. ERR 99! My research points to a shutter problem. I have a warranty so it's off the get fixed when the "box" arrives. I feel like my arm has been cut off. I am so use to having my "jones mo" with me. I cried. I got depressed and then I thought I could at least make the best of it so I am going to write about what i see. So when i see something i want to take a picture of I am going to write about it, tell the moment through words. It's a challenge, a good one to get my mind off the hospital.

Got to go for now....my trainer is calling me to the gym! I'm so SORE!!!!! Good day to all! It's beautiful out there!

Haiku #1

House quiet inside
Bees buzz outside my front door
Spring dances with me

Not too bad....my time is limited and I am insistent on keeping my promise...."one haiku per day" the goal is to slow me down and let me appreciate the beauty around me...no matter the chaos! I love writing them and have a deep longing to be the next robert frost or emily dickenson.....in another life maybe, but still the same I write them...they must be five/seven/five...meaning sybillables (sorry if that's spelled wrong). It really is quiet hard to write a good one, but you know when it's good because you feel like LIFE just hit you in the face! Try it...they are fun:)

Angie these photos are for you my dear! One of my biggest fan:)

I have been contemplative lately. Thinking is one of my strongest skills. (Vice or virtue?) I can get caught in my head and live there for days. It's a cycle. I go and come back. Go and come back. Go and come back. Matt calls it "diving into my well".
I need space. I need silence. Sometimes the only way to get it is to stop from the inside--the "out" is most often out of my control. I find myself still in the most chaotic times. My mind bending back and forth, swaying in the early April wind.

Do you believe in God?

I see God all the time. I know him when he speaks. Her breath singing in a sudden gush of wind.
The trees, flowers, bees, dog, cat, horse, house, rock that IS her, that is him. Watching.

Dancing. Playing like an orchestra, song after song. Day after day. Night after night. He IS constantly there.

These times when I am aware are powerful.

Being aware is scary.

It forces me to realize my place.

My truth.
Yours.

God is silence. He is chaos. She is the shadow that protects me from the sun. Do I believe in God?

How can I not?

I am

God.

So are you.

Today is a beautiful day.

Today is about Jack and all the little zebra's in the world. Together the three of us, matt, jack and I have been on a journey of bone deep personal understanding of this "elusive" experience we call "autisim". Jack is on the spectrum. The spectrum is a very wide rainbow, of length and of colors. Together we take it a step at a time with humility, humor and honor. We are so very proud to have Jack as "Jack". We love him because he is who he is. He is our boy wonder. Our "deep blue something".

Jack has been working really hard at school all year and has been excelling in all expectations. His biggest challenge is communication. It is coming along everday. We are antisipating him starting kindergarden next year! Go Jack! We love you and all the little one's we have met along the way, Clara, Laura-Lie, Shawn, Kai, Jude, Conner, Zackery to name a few. We look for zebra's everyday to join our zebra club:). Happy Day!
