We went to Savannah, GA. It was beautiful, lovely people and buildings, not to mention the Spanish moss hanging from the trees. The entire fam ate like " wealthy southern aristocrats". Scarlett had nothing on us!
We cooked alot of our meals (surprised?) we slept in and ate late. Lamb, mussels, crab legs, wine, wine and wine. Cheers to good food and good times!
The kids LOVED the beach!!! Their faces when they saw it for the first time was PRICELESS. All three were very HAPPY--Jack was so daring, Logan was totally cool, and Tatum loved the waves hitting her feet and playing in the sand.
Hayla couldn't take the heat, Pop stayed for awhile and then went for mom, and the rest of played for a couple of hours on the shore.
We shopped, which we were all very surprised how Tatum took to lead. She shopped better than us all, coming out with a whole new look. A dress, purse, hat and sunglasses, all picked out by herself, put on and ready to buy. We couldn't say no. So Pop bought it for her. It was really cute to see her so "into it" she had fun playing "dress up" although I am not sure if Pop did :-)
We ate out, shopped at a local produce stand that Paula Dean shops.
Cyn, mom and myself went on a "savannah ghost tour while Matt and pop watched the kids. It was really fun. We rode on a trolley all over downtown and into two different "haunted" houses. Savannah is known as the most haunted city in America. Mom got touched by a ghost but she still thinks I did it. I DID NOT!!! PROMISE.
We packed up Saturday got out at noon and traveled 7 hours down the road to home. The kids did great, but everyone was very happy to be home. Logan kept saying, "hi house, hi tv, hi room, hi chair, hi plant, etc. he kept saying hi to all the things that were in the room, it was cute :-)
We are home, and our lawn needs to be mowed, (still broken mower) our faucet in the kitchen stopped working and instead of unpacking we have been WORKING all day on the house! We ordered Chinese Food just now, in hopes to get the kitchen faucet back up and running.
All we wanted to do this summer was get the kids to the beach this summer. AND WE DID!
In my book summer was a success! Now ready for school and new things to come. Logan is going into Kindergarten, Jack 1st grade and Tatum ballet. This fall is for sure going to be all about change for me. I am looking forward it in someways and will be sad surely in others.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
